Mission Control

ASTRONAUT COMMISSION #7973 (Dr. F approved, after engineering set): a working console room teaching TELEMETRY MATH — the numbers that fly the mission; Artemis-vs-Apollo instrumentation panel (#7947) is its wall.

One Room, Many Hands
A flight is flown by a team on the ground as much as by the crew above. Each console owns one system and one voice; the flight director owns the decision. The room is an organisational invention as much as a technical one.
Go / No-Go
The poll is the room's central ritual: each console answers for its own system, in turn, out loud, on the record. No silence counts as assent. It is the most transferable procedure in this museum.
Tough and Competent
After the Apollo 1 fire killed three men on the pad, Gene Kranz told his people to write two words on their blackboards and never erase them. It is a statement about accountability, not about courage.
Apollo 13: The Room Improvises
A carbon-dioxide scrubber built from a flight manual cover, a sock and duct tape, designed on the ground and read up to the crew. The lesson is not heroism. It is that the room had the same parts the crew had, and had rehearsed.
Telemetry Is a Language
A console operator reads hundreds of numbers as a shape, not as digits, and notices when the shape is wrong before any alarm sounds. That skill is pattern recognition trained by hours of simulation — the same skill this school trains at a lab bench.
The Simulation Supervisors
A dedicated team's entire job was to break the mission in rehearsal — inventing failures until the room could handle them. By launch, most emergencies had already happened, on the ground, several times.
